Gliding Cupping
One cupping session with Jessica Walsh of Happy Porcupine Acupuncture. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cupping is the term applied to a technique that uses small glass cups or bamboo jars as suction devices that are placed on the skin. Once the suction has occurred, the cups are gently moved across the skin. The suction in the cups causes the skin and superficial muscle layer to be lightly drawn into the cup. Cupping is much like the inverse of massage - rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system. One cupping session with Jessica Walsh of Happy Porcupine Acupuncture.
Acupuncture (New Client)
One acupuncture session with Jessica Walsh of Happy Porcupine Acupuncture. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on an ancient philosophy that describes the universe, and the body, in terms of two opposing forces: yin and yang. When these forces are in balance, the body is healthy. Energy, called "qi" (pronounced "chee") flows along specific pathways, called meridians, throughout the body. This constant flow of energy keeps the yin and yang forces balanced. However, if the flow of energy gets blocked, like water getting stuck behind a dam, the disruption can lead to pain, lack of function, or illness. Acupuncture therapy can release blocked qi in the body and stimulate function, evoking the body’s natural healing response through various physiological systems. Modern research has demonstrated acupuncture’s effects on the nervous system, endocrine and immune systems, cardiovascular system, and digestive system. By stimulating the body’s various systems, acupuncture can help to resolve pain, and improve sleep, digestive function, and sense of well-being.

Foot Reflexology
Foot Reflexology is therapeutic foot massage, based on the idea that there are areas on the feet, called reflex zones, that correspond to organs and glands in the body. Massaging a reflex zone helps to increase circulation and nerve conduction to the corresponding body part, helping the organ or gland to function more optimally. The massage enhances blood circulation and flexibility in the feet, making foot reflexology a good choice for treating foot pain and conditions such as plantar fasciitis, edema, and neuropathy. Foot reflexology also helps to calm the nervous system, resulting in decreased “fight or flight” response and enabling the body to work on healing itself. Denise employs the gentle Reflexolo-Chi™ technique, which is soothing to the feet, nervous system and soul.
